Damn post author shit!

Hey wordpress!!!

Can somebody just fix the damn post author bug already? I mean there is a new version of Wordpress released like every month so common already! How hard is it for you brainy types to fix the database table thingy?

What? You have no idea what I am talking about? Here is a recap:

I have multiple authors on this blog but I (the blog administrator) also post entries on the blog. Imaging that a blog owner wanting to post on their own blog! Ever since I added other contributors I have lost the ability to write posts under my old admin/ user name. It just doesn’t show up under the post author pull down menu on the write post page. How does adding other contributors just make me invisible?

I read lots of gibberish crap about creating a user with admin privileges with the same user name/ credentials as the original admin/author. This does allow me to now post under my DirtyLaundryDiva user name but it doesn’t fix the default author selection at all! I also read a “fix” that talked about changing the roles of the users, then chaging them back. I went through all the hair pulling and did exactly what was explained. What a surprise it still does not fix the default author for me.

So if I forget to specify which author is posting my default author picked for me automatically based upon the the alphabetical order of all my authors when I am signed in as admin.

This is just plain annoying!

I don’t want to have to select myself as the author every time I post an entry on my own blog besides I never remember to! As a result my blog shows that cattyandcrazy is the author of my posts and she even gets moderation emails about the comments on those posts. Now she thinks I am posting under her user name or something and I have to go back and fix the error over and over again…

Seriously, WTF?

Oh look, a new update is out…

What do you want to bet it wont fix the issue I am having?

    I don’t know for sure, since I was too lazy and scared to update to 2.6.1 (it’s in beta, apparently), but it should fix the issue if it was brought to light before this release.

    I’ve seen an update available for like a month now but it won’t let me update. I think that’s what’s wrong with my comments. My SIL’s moving me to another host this weekend though and will update everything, so hopefully that will fix it.
