For those of you who don’t know, NewscasterHottie (my man) is preparing to sever ties with a particular news station aka BigDawgNews, he found better opportunities elsewhere and basically he was tired of getting jerked around and disrespected. So, we are in the midst of a job transition right now. Every singe day we are thinking “good thing we’re leaving” because the situation just keeps getting worse and worse at BigDawgNews.

The media giant that owns BigDawgNews is having some very tough financial times, stocks are loosing value each day and you can just see that things aren’t improving anytime soon. This company is headed for some major fallout and I am sure the investors are loosing their minds right now.

You can tell things are bad when the whole mind set of the company changes over the course of a year. Before this company was all “high and mighty” they felt they were the best of the best and this way of thinking trickled down the chain of command, all the way to the low level employees. People felt good about who they worked for and it was all gravy.

People weren’t getting more money than their competition but the “we are the mightiest of all” attitude was adopted by all the staff regardless of the insulting pay they were receiving. The status they gained from working for BigDawgNews somehow canceled out the lower than average pay they were receiving. I guess status was more important than paying the bills for many!

Well these days the superiority is gone. The top execs are all in a tizzy, no repairs are being done on the broadcast equipment, no new staff is being hired, management is only worrying about their own bottom line these days and the lack of regard for staff is felt by all, pay freezes are in effect so nobody is getting a raise and the existing staff gets the blame for it all. Basically people are making nothing and feeling like poo because shit travels down hill my friends!

This company is also quite arrogant and set in one way of doing things. They have tried to hold on to their monopoly in the news industry but their arrogance and unwillingness to try new things has made them the underdog. They have no loyalty to the staff (like many businesses) and they refuse to pay you what is fair because it may cut in to their own pocket book. Many big names in TV have severed ties with this media giant for this exact thing!

My theory is that greed and arrogance will eventually will destroy you. This particular media giant and the top raking execs are greedy, especially nasty to the staff and now they are getting exactly what they deserve. Ha, sucks to be you! If you want to be successful you need to appreciate and take care of the people who got you there right? Well they have done the exact opposite and now they have to suffer the consequences…

Now stocks are plummeting, people are being laid off and this company is headed for the crapper! Employees have no reason to stick by the company, this results in key players being lost. Station ratings and advertising money are way down, viewers are pissed and the company is screwed. We think it is great and are loving every minute of it. Thank goodness we are moving on, it is going to suck for those who are around when the bottom falls out.

The moral of the story is: You are nothing without the people who helped you get to where you are, screw them and you are screwing yourself!
