When it rains it pours: Drama on the home front.
Dirty Laundry Diva Do you live close to your family? If you are like myself and NewscasterHottie being close to family just means disaster. We live about 120 miles from family right now, this is suitable for us. However, when we visit the family we are always ready for exciting times.
This weekend is a perfect example of this. Is it a full moon or something? The plan was a simple day visit, to retrieve our dog, that family was watching for us while we were away. When I arrived I was greeted by the drama.
EmotionalDramaQueen who is part of the family was also visiting TheRanch this weekend. She became sick overnight and woke RanchMama, to cry about how she wasn’t feeling well. RanchMama provided a bowl for throwing up in and told her to just sit it out and try relaxing/ sleeping. EmotionalDramaQueen proceeded to sit in the hallway outside RanchMama’s room crying, then she blew chunks everywhere.
As we were preparing to head back home that evening we start up our car, RanchPapa heard a loud banging coming from the engine. He asked if that was a normal sound for our car, we didn’t even notice the strange noise till we got out of the car. It did not sound good at all but we had to get home. NewscasterHottie had to work the next morning.
We thought it would be wise to investigate the banging noise, even though we had no idea what to look for. After checking and adding oil we decided to just try making it home then we would have the car looked at, seems reasonable right?
We pull out the driveway and are making our way up the hill when the car just shuts off. Perfect right? Good thing we pay an annual fee for emergency roadside assistance. Guess we’ll call in sick for work, get the car off the road and call roadside assistance that wont be helping us till morning. Anyone have a tent?
We’ll need to stay the night at TheRanch now, without any change of clothes or hygiene products. Oh, and the only bed we can stay in is IrateTeenageBoy’s room. Only problem is it looks like this:
In the morning we towed the car to the mechanic. Right now we are sitting at the ranch, waiting to hear back from the mechanic about the car. After we have a repair time frame we plan to get our rental car and head home.
While we are waiting on word from the mechanic VainControlFreak, another family member was pulling in his driveway and his dog falls from the car and face plants on a giant bolder. Two canine teeth were cracked and broken, blood is flowing and the poor dog is is pain. VainCrontrolFreak drops his poor doggie off at home and calls us to go over and tend to him.
It is only 2pm and we have had quite an eventful 24 hours already, what else could possibly happen? Perhaps our car is toast and we’ll need to buy a new one or I could get bit by a snake out here in the desert… The possibilities are endless!
